What the Bible Says:
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

If the “right” exists, why doesn’t it exist here and now? Why do we still have things like pain and evil? Why are we separated from God? We feel all these things—we know that they are not right. So why do they exist? |

God created everything just right. But something went horribly wrong. Adam, the first human, did something that was not right. He sinned. Instead of doing what God wanted, he did something that God said he should not do. That separated Adam from God, by his own choice. When we are separated from God, that’s when we experience things like evil and pain. |

|
But the truth of the matter is, we’ve all sinned just like Adam. We’ve all done things and said things—and even thought things—that we know God doesn’t want us to. We’ve told lies, we’ve taken things that didn’t belong to us, we’ve wanted harm to come to other people. And we see others doings these things, too. That separates us from God, and we feel it almost every day. |

We know all of this just isn’t right—isn’t the way it’s supposed to be. Sin is what has made the world not right. |
